Dr Aifric O’Sullivan has extensive experience in human nutrition research using a variety of approaches including biochemistry, functional measurements, and metabolomics. As a Postdoc at University College Dublin she worked on the National Phenotype Database (JINGO). In 2011 she went to University of California, Davis and continued to examine the diversity in human responses to diet and lifestyle. While in Davis she expanded her research portfolio applying metabolomics to monitor key dimensions of the early development of infant health. She returned to UCD as a Lecturer in Human Nutrition in September 2012 and is continuing her research with particular focus on the first 1000 days of life.

Within AgriDiet, Aifric is supervising the Tanzanian nutrition PhD work (Work Package 5), as well as advising on nutrition issues in the methodolgy (Work Package 3).
